Material Assistance for Parents & Babies

  • Modesto Pregnancy Center’s medical clinics (First Choice Health Services) offers free pregnancy services, parenting classes, and material support such as diapers, wipes, formula, and baby clothing through participation in its programs. Beyond the material assistance, it’s a good place for parents to find community.

  • Healthy Families Stanislaus provides free home-visiting support, parent education, and connections to community resources for pregnant women and families with young children.

Financial Assistance & Benefits Navigation

  • Community Services Agency is often the first stop for CalWORKs, CalFresh, Medi-Cal, childcare assistance, and other county-based support programs.

  • Calling 211 (United Way's referral service) can help families identify local rental assistance, utility assistance, food resources, and emergency support programs. Community members frequently recommend it for navigating available aid.

Free or Low-Cost Counseling

Childcare & Parent Support

  • Healthy Start Family Resource Center helps families access childcare resources, healthcare enrollment, counseling support, housing application assistance, and parenting education.

  • Healthy Families Stanislaus is especially valuable for first-time parents because it offers individualized support from nurses, social workers, and community health workers.
