Volunteer Weekly
or Biweekly

Here are some weekly volunteer positions that are currently available:

  • Our Peer Advocates have the pleasure of coming alongside our clients and helping them with emotional support, help our clients make an informed decision about pregnancy, gives referrals for resources in the community, as well as share the gospel with our clients.

  • This role is for women who are licensed RNs, and it includes running pregnancy tests and providing patients with their results in a medical consultation. The medical consultation may include informing clients of abortion procedures, sharing miscarriage precautions, and scheduling the patient to return for an ultrasound if the pregnancy test is positive.

  • At MPC we want our patients to feel loved and welcomed as soon as they enter the building. Volunteering at the front desk allows you to help us make our patients feel welcomed when they come in. Basic computer skills are required, as the front desk person checks patients in for their appointments, and they work closely with the medical team to make sure they have the appropriate paperwork and information that they need for the client. This position may include other side tasks that we need help with in the office.

  • Our Community Education team is out in our schools pouring into our youth! The Community Education team has been in our schools for more than 20 years talking to our youth about healthy relationships, fetal development, and identity. One of the team’s goals has been to increase connections with local churches, which has included speaking to area youth groups as well.

  • Sonographers get the incredible privilege of showing patients the life growing inside them.

A potential sonographer must have their medical license in order to undergo the ultrasonography training (which the Modesto Pregnancy Center will provide). Additionally, all potential sonographers will begin as a Pregnancy Test Nurse.

This position also requires a longer shift commitment. All sonographers are required to commit to a minimum of one five-hour shift per week.

Here are some biweekly volunteer positions that are currently available:

  • Each ultrasound performed must have an ultrasound witness, and that’s where our volunteers come in! It’s a privilege to be in that room when our patients are “meeting” their babies for the first time. All we need from you is to be present, to be prayerful, and to respect the patient regardless of where they are in their pregnancy journey.

  • Our Incentive Program classes are back in person! With that, we are in need of teachers for all of our classes. We have the material prepared for you, but we ask that you come with a desire to create connection, to provide support, and to encourage our families.

    Our current classes:

    • First and Second Trimester

    • Third Trimester

    • New Parent

    • a Spanish pregnancy class

  • With the reintroduction of in-person classes, our Bumps & Bows Boutique has been busier than ever. Volunteering in this role may include helping during class shopping appointments, laundering and organizing the incoming donations, packaging diaper bundles, etc.

  • This is an upcoming position that will be offered at our new medical clinic in downtown Modesto, as we will be offering STI testing to both men and women. In this role a nurse would gather the samples needed for testing, provide education to the patient, and ensure the specimen is sent to the appropriate facility for testing.

Additionally, we have some positions that are on an “as-needed” basis. There will likely be no set schedule, but a flexible schedule would be incredibly helpful in these roles:

  • In order for our car seat program to continue, we need some volunteer support. The first step will be becoming a certified child passenger safety technician, and then that knowledge will be shared with our patients and their children. We offer free car seats to patients who take our online class, and during the installation appointment we teach the caregivers all about safe, proper installation in order to help them be as safe as possible while on the road.

  • Each ultrasound we perform is reviewed by a medical doctor, and they are ALL volunteers! This is an incredibly important role to our ministry, as the doctor confirms our sonographer’s findings or advises of potential concerns.

If you’re interested in volunteering with us regularly in our clinic(s), submit the interest form below. We’ll follow up with you soon!
