Danielle’s Story

Our satellite clinic, Selah, has always been an interesting one.

We often can’t measure “success” in a typical way, such as the number of patients. While every patient in our clinics is inherently important, there’s an extra weight to each patient seen at Selah, as no woman comes to 2030 Coffee Road looking for First Choice Health Services. Many are at that location for an abortion.

We have seen a tremendous increase in the women that have entered our doors for services—40% more, in fact—and we know that this is God is at work. God has big plans in store for our sweet Selah, and we desire to remain faithful to what He asks of us.

Danielle is one patient that requires continued faith in what we cannot see and cannot understand. Danielle came to Selah for a pregnancy test and ultrasound. She was shaking, pale, anxious. With a nearly empty bank account and already helping raise three younger siblings, Danielle’s immediate thought when her at-home pregnancy test showed positive was “abortion.”

Danielle felt so overwhelmed with the pregnancy that she ended the ultrasound almost right after it began.

She shook, repeating,

“I’m sorry, but I can’t.”

She expressed gratitude for our nurse speaking with her, she apologized for taking our nurse’s time, but she repeated,

“I’m sorry, but I can’t.”

And she gathered her belongings and walked to the abortion clinic.

While we would have desired her to stay and choose life, we also know that God can do mighty things. We know God can save, God can redeem, and God can transform. We pray fervently that the truth spoken by our nurse would be the beginning of her walk with the Lord and that she would find healing, regardless of what outcome she ultimately chose for her pregnancy and her child.

Will you join us in that prayer?
